Kia ora Whānau

Another busy week last week which culminated in the wonderful  performance by our Kapa Haka group on Sunday at the rugby. They made us all  proud. Thank you to Mary Bastion for all the work that goes on behind the scene preparing the Kapa Haka and getting them ready for performances. Thank you also to those parents who ensured their children arrived at the grounds and got them home safely again and to the Cashmere Primary School staff who supported on the day. Once again Cashmere children shone.

Coin trail to raise money for Maddie Collins

My name is Harriet and I am a year 8 student at Cashmere Primary School. On the 16th of September, I have organised to do a coin trail to raise money for a 12 year old Christchurch girl called Maddie Collins. Maddie needs people to help her raise $350,000.00 to go to America to get a new kidney. If your child would like to support Maddie, please bring a gold coin to school on the 16th. Please bring your coin to the office before school or during school and get your child to put their coin on the picture in the office.  Lots of schools have chosen to support Maddie by doing a Mufti day but we have decided to do a coin trail instead.  If you would like any more information about Maddie, please click the link:

Thank you for your support, Harriet

Seeds

The 'Seeds' initiative got off to a flying start on Friday with a group of very happy and engaged children.  A special thanks to Stephanie Defregger and her band of helpers for all their work in getting this up and running and to all those parents who have volunteered their time, energy and expertise to help support this great project. 'From small acorns mighty oak trees grow' and who knows what this initiative might lead to as we are able to expose our children to something they might not otherwise have had the opportunity to experience. Thanks also to all those parents who supported it by signing their children up.

HELLO from the SEEDS team

Thankyou so much for signing up so quickly to the sessions. They are booked out! Yes, we know it all filled up pretty quickly. Sorry if you missed out! What about we create more sessions? The more tutors we have, the more classes we can offer and the better SEEDS will be! We were wondering if you would like to be part of the SEEDS initiative as a tutor or an assistant to keep the SEEDS program going?! We would love you to do a session for our school kids and spark their passion with anything that you love, like reading, story telling, drawing, fixing stuff, planting, ANYTHING! We would love to hear from you - email us passionforseeds@gmail.com.
