Cashmere Primary School Library is being re sited in 2014 to the large multi purpose space within the Epicentre complex. This is a temporary arrangement until our property development is concluded in 2016. Then we will have a purpose designed learning centre/ library. It will remain a vibrant but relaxing place where students can read, relax or search for information. Our collection supports the curriculum and caters for needs of our Cashmere children. Currently, we are developing our New Zealand section with NZ history, NZ fiction and everything else in between.

Sue Meehan is the staff member in charge of the library. Sue works hard to ensure the library is run in an efficient and service orientated manner. We appreciate student and family support to ensure all books are returned to the library in good condition and by the due date.

For our senior students, we have acquired an excellent collection of 'Global Issues' and 'Global Hotspots'. These books cover problems with our environment and conflict in the Middle East.

We have purchased for our junior students a collection of 'Energy Choices' and 'Recycling' books that I am sure will get plenty of use.

All these new books support the vision that Cashmere Primary School has, of global awareness and earning a Gold award at the Enviro Schools Programme.

Children are able to borrow 4-5 books for two weeks. The library is open most lunch times and students are able to return books before school.
